As our in-house Paralegal, you’ll be a critical part of our powerhouse legal team. You’ll work closely with our attorney team to support farmers, landowners, and families across the state of Georgia. This role blends estate planning, probate, small business planning, real estate law, and litigation into deeply impactful work.

💼 What Tasks Does This Role Involve?
- Order, review, and analyze title abstracts and public records
- Conduct title research using courthouse and online records
- Draft deeds, real estate contracts, probate pleadings, estate plans, and other legal documents
- Prepare and file pleadings and other legal documents with courts and public records offices
- Support the advancement of our estate planning, probate, real estate, heirs’ property, and litigation cases
- Build and refine case management systems and workflows
- Conduct family tree research and prepare reports for heirs property matters
- Facilitate client family meetings and document client decisions
- Draft family agreements and help negotiate resolutions among heirs
- Assist with client document signings and notarizations
- Research property co-owners and assist in identifying heirs
- Maintain organized case files and track deadlines
- Prepare trial notebooks and exhibits for litigation matters
- Assist in assembling and preparing witnesses for hearings and trials
- Attend trials and hearings to provide support to the attorney
- Support special projects aimed at building community wealth and stability

✅ Requirements
- 3+ years of paralegal experience (estate planning, probate, real estate, and litigation experience preferred)
- Warm, professional communication style—written and verbal
- Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with case management software; willingness to learn new tech tools
- Reliable transportation for occasional courthouse and client visits
- High degree of honesty, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality
- Natural inclination to create, maintain, and improve systems
- Passion for family history, genealogy, and historical research
- Ability to explain complex legal information in layman’s terms
- Deep commitment to the mission of building generational wealth and promoting racial equity
- Ability to prepare trial notebooks, assemble exhibits, and assist attorneys in court appearances

- Have experience working with heirs' property or complex real estate issues
- Have assisted farmers with estate or farm succession planning
- Are familiar with Georgia probate procedures and real estate filings
- Have experience conducting genealogical research

- Have previously worked in a small firm or mission-driven organization
💰 Salary Range
- Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
